Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris delivered a speech in Pittsburgh, a city known for its iron processing industry, about her economic plans.

The goal was to contrast her vision with that of her opponent, Donald Trump, and to gain votes in the key state, The New York Times reported.

The current Vice President emphasized her personal story, spoke about her intention to grow the American middle class, and stressed that the Republican candidate seeks to push the United States back to the failed policies of the past. “For Trump, our economy moves forward if it works for skyscraper owners, not for those who build them, install them, or clean their floors,” Harris mentioned, according to The Washington Post.

The Vice President highlighted some of her economic strategies, such as a $6,000 tax credit for families during the first year of a child’s life; a $3,600 tax credit per child for working families; and once again committed to not raising taxes on households with annual incomes below $400,000, shared The Guardian.
