Within the framework of Pride Month, the Consulate General of the United States in Tijuana joined in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing the "important fight" of Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson that they promoted in 1969.

The Consulate of the United States raised the pride flag along with the United States flag, as well as the lighting of the building with the representative colors of the community. Similarly, through a post on his Facebook page, he recognized the fight for progress thanks to the fight and recalled that the consulate is an ally and a safe space.

“We show our solidarity as allies of this community by raising the flag of pride of progress on our pole next to the American flag, joining the important fight that Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson promoted in 1969 at the Stonewall bar in NY; Since then, solemn acts have been held for this movement during the month of June.

He also reiterated his support: “We celebrate the diversity in our community and remind everyone that the Consulate General of the United States in Tijuana is an ally and a safe space for all its visitors.”
