The financing of cultural and artistic projects in the communities is an annual contribution

With the intention of promoting art and culture among San Diegans, the city will allocate $12.2 million to non-profit organizations for the development of community programs and projects.

Of the 113 beneficiaries of this funding are ArtReach San Diego, Fern Street Community Arts, which brings circus and education to disadvantaged communities; and the San Diego Children's Choir, which offers children music education and performance opportunities, who provide free or low-cost arts education.

Likewise, these funds will go to 73 organizations and the development of community projects such as the Chicano Park Steering Committee for and the Pacific Beach Community Development for the summer concerts to be held at the Kate Sessions Park.

Funding is an annual event, which is raised through a local allocation of the Transient Occupancy Tax from visitors staying in hotels. This with the purpose, as already mentioned, to bring to the communities different programs such as projection of films, videos, exhibitions, shows, festivals and parades.
