Despite its renowned infrastructure, San Diego faced a crisis following the storm that hit the area, including floods, highway closures, and numerous traffic accidents.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that at least 300 collisions occurred during the storm. Additionally, between 12 to 15 points on local roads and two major highways were closed: Highway 78 between Vista and Oceanside and Highway 15 near Oceanview Boulevard in southern San Diego. These closures were primarily caused by water accumulation, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded.

The situation was so extreme that residents of Shelltown, one of the most affected areas, resorted to kayaks to navigate through their flooded streets and check on the well-being of their neighbors. County parks and an RV Trailer Park in National City also experienced flooding, leading to the displacement of residents.

The city experienced a historic rainfall drop, recording over 7.5 centimeters in National City and 4 inches in other areas, figures that typically accumulate over four days of intense rainfall. The weather phenomenon not only caused flooding but also resulted in the formation of potholes and a sinkhole in the Miramar area.

The storm's effects extended to the electrical and transportation infrastructure. Power outages forced the cancellation of classes in Barrio Logan and affected Interstate 5 near César Chávez Parkway. Additionally, several trolley stations, including the one on 65th Street in Lemon Grove, suspended their service, temporarily replaced by shuttle buses.

By Tuesday, most of the storm's effects had been mitigated, and the city began returning to normalcy.
