In the early hours of Monday around 3:05 a.m., an accident shook the community of El Cajon.

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, a 39-year-old man, a resident of El Cajon, was driving a 2011 Buick Enclave southbound on Winter Gardens Boulevard, south of Sterling Hill Lane.

The vehicle was carrying two passengers, a 37-year-old man and another 41-year-old, both also from El Cajon. When the driver lost control of the car, he made an unexpected movement that caused him to veer off the road and collide violently with a residence.

The impact was so severe that the vehicle overturned and crashed into the house, located in the 9000 block of Winter Gardens Boulevard. Both the driver and passengers suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident and were urgently transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Authorities suspect that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this incident that left three people fighting for their recovery.
