There’s a roadway in San Diego County that has been ranked as one of the most haunted in the country, according to an analysis by car rental company SIXT.

SIXT researchers compiled a list of the scariest routes in the U.S. after dark, based on search trends from Google and TikTok. They analyzed road names paired with terms like "ghost" or "haunted."

Additionally, they used the Ghosts of America website to identify the states with the most ghost sightings along roadways. Can you guess which area in San Diego made the list?

SIXT ranked Highway 94, which stretches from Rancho San Diego to Campo, as the 13th most haunted road in the country. But why?

According to SIXT, "Haven Bakery, located off Highway 94 in San Diego, California, is infamous for its tragic history. Locals claim that both the bakery and the road are known for sightings of 'ghosts,' 'creatures,' and 'demons' lurking along Highway 94, all said to be connected to the bakery."

Highway 94 is the only road in California that made it into the top 20 most haunted roads, according to this analysis. Clinton Road in New Jersey ranked No. 1, while Florida’s Interstate 4 came in at No. 2.
