The Santa Ana winds are returning to San Diego County, expected to begin this afternoon and continue through Friday morning. Authorities have issued a Red Flag Warning due to the critical fire risk posed by strong winds and extremely low humidity levels.

Fire danger is considered elevated in some areas of the county, starting at 3 p.m. today and lasting until 11 a.m. on Friday. In response, officials recommend the following precautions:

• Avoid any outdoor activities that could generate sparks or flames.
• Have an evacuation plan ready and stay informed on weather and fire condition updates.
• Keep flammable objects away from outdoor areas and clear dry leaves or branches from around homes.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued in San Diego County due to the expected high-speed winds and critically low relative humidity. In some parts of the county, critical fire danger will start today at 3 p.m. and last until 11 a.m. on Friday.
