The iconic “Adelita Bar”, a landmark establishment with over six decades of history in Tijuana, has announced the permanent closure of its operations. In an official statement, the business administration revealed that the decision was driven by alleged extortion and harassment from individuals and competing businesses, who, according to the company, acted in collusion with corrupt authorities.  

The statement denounces that these actions included the fabrication of crimes and false accusations, which not only affected the business but also third parties unrelated to the bar’s operations. The management of “Adelita Bar”claims that these acts have made it impossible to continue operating, despite the venue’s long-standing tradition and positive economic impact on the city.  

This closure represents a significant economic blow to the community, as the bar provided hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the region. In the statement, the management expressed solidarity with the affected families, acknowledging the difficult situation they will face following the closure. They also voiced their support for both national and foreign investors who may also be impacted by this decision.
