It happened this Friday following an explosion at a law enforcement training facility

Three Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies died Friday following an explosion at a law enforcement training facility.

Sheriff Robert Luna described the incident as an isolated tragedy and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community. Federal teams, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are investigating the cause of the blast.

The deputies’ identities have not been released, but officials said they had served for 12, 22, and 33 years, respectively. “They proudly served our community for a combined 74 years,” Luna said, adding that the department had not experienced a loss of this magnitude in more than 150 years.

Governor Gavin Newsom offered the state’s full support, while Attorney General Pam Bondi called for prayers for the Sheriff’s Department.
