So far, no damage has been reported

At least five low-magnitude earthquakes were recorded across various parts of California on the night of Monday, August 5, and the early hours of Tuesday, August 6, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The first quake occurred around 5:00 p.m. local time on Monday near Rialto, in Southern California. It had a magnitude of 3.5 and a depth of approximately 4 miles (6.4 kilometers).

Several hours later, around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, another 3.5-magnitude tremor struck near Ontario, also in the southern part of the state, with a similar depth.

About an hour after that, a third quake measuring 3.7 in magnitude was recorded north of Lytle Creek, with an estimated depth of 6.5 miles (10.5 kilometers).

According to impact reports collected by USGS — which have not yet been scientifically verified — all three quakes caused light shaking in the San Bernardino area. No injuries or damages have been reported.

Meanwhile, off the coast of Northern California, two more quakes were detected early Tuesday morning. The first, a magnitude 3.4 event, occurred around 10:00 p.m. local time Monday, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) west of Ferndale. The second, with a magnitude of 2.9, struck roughly an hour later about 11 miles (18 kilometers) west of Petrolia.

As of 7:00 a.m. ET, no noticeable shaking had been reported in Northern California, according to USGS impact summaries.
