The outage affected several communities; the utility expects to restore service by the afternoon while investigating the cause

More than 4,000 San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) customers were left without electricity Wednesday morning due to outages reported in various parts of the county.


According to the utility company, the first outage was detected shortly after 9 a.m. in the communities of Paradise Hills, Skyline, and Bay Terraces.

By 9:55 a.m., 4,154 customers were still without power in those areas. SDG&E estimated that service could be restored around 2:30 p.m., though the timeline is subject to change.


The cause of the outage remains under investigation, and no further details have been provided so far. SDG&E advises customers to stay informed and follow safety guidelines during power outages.
