Product was distributed in California and two other states; health officials warn of infection risks and potential kidney complications in young children.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the recall of more than 22,000 pounds of raw ground beef due to possible contamination with E. coli bacteria.
According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), CS Beef Packers, LLC, based in Kuna, Idaho, is recalling approximately 22,912 pounds of product that may be contaminated with E. coli O145.
So far, no confirmed illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled beef. However, officials warn that individuals exposed to the bacteria may develop symptoms between two and eight days after consumption.
The beef was produced on January 14, 2026, and shipped to distributors in California, Idaho, and Oregon, where it was further distributed to food service locations.
