Ventura Foods LLC has announced a voluntary recall of several peanut butter products distributed across 40 U.S. states after foreign material was detected during a quality control inspection.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the company initiated the recall in April 2025 after discovering fragments of blue plastic in a production filter. Although the action was taken last year, the federal agency classified the incident as a Class II recall on February 12.

Under FDA guidelines, a Class II recall involves products that may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences if used or consumed. The likelihood of serious health effects is considered remote.

Affected Products

The recall includes individual-serving creamy peanut butter items as well as “Poco Pac” combination packs with jelly or jam, distributed by different companies. Among the products listed by the FDA are:

• Creamy peanut butter in 0.5 oz and 0.75 oz sizes, distributed by US Foods in Rosemont, Illinois.
• Combination packs containing 1.12 oz of peanut butter and 1 oz of grape jelly, distributed by Dyma Brands, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia.
• Combination packs containing 1.12 oz of peanut butter and 1 oz of strawberry jam, also distributed by Dyma Brands, Inc.

Authorities are urging consumers and food service establishments to check product lot numbers and review the complete recall notice published by the FDA to determine whether their items are affected.

States Impacted

The FDA reported that the products were shipped to the following 40 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

So far, no serious illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products. However, officials continue to advise consumers not to consume any items included in the recall.
