The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) announced that it is closely monitoring recent developments in Iran and other parts of the Middle East as part of its preventive efforts to ensure safety throughout the city.

In a statement, the department said its patrol divisions, in coordination with intelligence units, are maintaining heightened awareness around religious institutions, cultural centers, and other locations considered sensitive across San Diego, with the goal of deterring any potential attempts to create fear or cause harm.

Authorities emphasized that there are currently no known credible threats to the city. However, officials said they will continue to assess information as it becomes available and provide updates if necessary.

The SDPD reaffirmed its commitment to protecting all communities within the city and urged residents to remain vigilant. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity by calling 911 or 619-531-2000.
