The reason for Julio Urías' continued absence from Major League Baseball was revealed this week through a video shared by the Los Angeles Times. Just over a year after the Mexican pitcher was arrested on domestic violence charges outside BMO Stadium, the video sheds light on the incident.

The newspaper disclosed that the video, approximately one and a half minutes long, was provided by the California Highway Patrol, capturing the events of September 3, 2023.

In the footage, Urías can be seen arguing with his partner. She walks ahead, but he catches up to her, and they begin to struggle. Urías then pushes her against a fence multiple times. At this point, bystanders intervene, but not before Urías strikes his wife with his left fist.

Following this incident, the pitcher was arrested and removed from the Dodgers' first team. Although he was sentenced in May for a misdemeanor domestic violence charge and placed on probation, the release of this video makes it highly unlikely that Urías will ever pitch in Major League Baseball again.
