Víctor Manuel Félix Félix is alleged to be a member of the Sinaloa Cartel, and allegedly engaged in money laundering operations through banking institutions based in Texas, New York, and California

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (Femdo) has obtained a formal imprisonment order against Víctor Manuel Félix Félix, son's in-law of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera, from the First District Court of Federal Criminal Proceedings in the state of Tamaulipas, based in Matamoros. According to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, he is accused of being a probable suspect in the offenses of organized crime (related to drug trafficking and money laundering) and money laundering.

Víctor Manuel Félix Félix is alleged to be a member of the Sinaloa Cartel, and allegedly engaged in money laundering operations through banking institutions based in Texas, New York, and California, as well as in Cancun, Guadalajara, and Mexico City. According to investigations, he used exchange houses and commercial companies to conceal the origin of the funds.

El Chapo Guzmán's son's in-law was handed over to Mexican authorities by U.S. agents on May 2nd at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in Tijuana, Baja California, through a controlled deportation. Subsequently, elements of the Federal Ministerial Police attached to the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) carried out his arrest and transferred him to the Federal Center for Social Rehabilitation Number 14, located in Durango.

This new legal development represents progress in the efforts of the authorities to combat organized crime and pursue alleged members of the Sinaloa Cartel. The capture and legal proceedings against Víctor Manuel Félix Félix demonstrate the collaboration between Mexico and the United States in the fight against transnational crime.

The issuance of the formal imprisonment order reinforces the determination of the Mexican authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served regarding the crimes attributed to Víctor Manuel Félix Félix. It is expected that this case will continue through the legal process, and the corresponding procedures will be carried out to determine his responsibility and establish the appropriate penalties if he is found guilty.
