While Popocatépetl in Mexico covered ash in some areas in Egypt, a giant sandstorm covered Cairo as it passed through the Suez Canal and reached Israel, leaving one person dead and several injured in its wake.
 

Sandstorms are not common in Egypt, especially during spring, the heat and conditions of the season encourage their creation, however, on June 1st a spectacular sandstorm covered even huge ships.
 

Authorities worked in the area where the fence fell to free people who were trapped in their cars, as well as to clear the streets of the rubble, added local media.
 

Not only on land were the effects of the storm seen, in the Suez Canal its winds caused waves of up to 4 meters high, for which reason the port was closed to navigation.
 

During the passage of the storm, the Ministry of Health and the Egyptian Meteorological Authority called on the inhabitants not to leave the house if possible, to use masks in outdoor areas and to hydrate adequately, in addition to that it was requested be alert to objects, such as bags and containers, which due to the intensity of the winds could fly through the air and cause injuries.
