The 'One Chip Challenge' has gone viral on social media, which involves eating a snack from the Paqui brand. It comes wrapped in an aluminum-sealed bag inside a coffin-shaped cardboard box, with a cost of around $10. The package warns that the snack is made for the 'vengeful pleasure of spiciness and intense pain' and is intended for adults, so it should be kept out of reach of children.

Young Harris Wolobah from Massachusetts passed away last Friday, and his family attributes the minor's death to the consumption of the extra spicy potato chip. The corresponding autopsy has not yet been performed, and the actual causes of death have not been determined.

In response, the snack manufacturer has pulled the product, sold under the name 'One Chip,' from the market after the teenager's death. The Texas-based company, Paqui, has requested that stores remove their snacks, a measure that 7-eleven has already implemented.

Paqui, a subsidiary of The Hershey Company, posted a statement on their website last Thursday in which they "deeply regretted the death" of Wolobah.

"We have seen an increase in teenagers and other individuals who do not heed these warnings," the company stated. "As a result, although the product continues to meet food safety standards, and out of an abundance of caution, we are actively working with retailers to remove the product from the shelves."
