Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has made serious accusations against US private military companies, stating that they are recruiting inmates from Mexico and Colombia in American prisons to send them to fight in the war in Ukraine.

According to the statement issued by the SVR, American private military companies, under the direction of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI, have started recruiting representatives of Mexican and Colombian drug cartels serving sentences in US prisons to participate in the Ukrainian conflict.

The first batch of these alleged recruits is expected to be deployed to the battlefield in the summer of this year, composed of hundreds of Mexicans and Colombians. They are promised full amnesty in the hope that they will not return from Ukraine.

The SVR warned of the possibility that if this pilot project is successful, the recruitment program of criminals will continue and be expanded to include offenders from other countries with serious crime situations. However, they point out that the process faces difficulties, as negotiations with drug traffickers are complicated, and no criminal dares to cooperate with US authorities without the consent of their bosses.

These accusations come amid the ongoing escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with Russia accusing the United States of attempting to intervene on behalf of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Ukrainian lawmakers to approve a new mobilization law to address difficulties in the draft.

The US government has not yet responded to these accusations, but the Russian Embassy in Mexico has stated that these recruitments are part of a desperate effort by the United States to change the situation on the Ukrainian front.
