The iconic resort, which initiated a boom in megaresort development on the Strip when it opened in 1989, is scheduled to close on July 17. However, before its closure, it must distribute $1.6 million in unclaimed progressive jackpots from slot machines and table games.

Nevada law mandates that progressive jackpots are an obligation to the players, and any remaining funds must be paid out before a casino shuts its doors. For the slot machine jackpots, totaling $1.2 million, The Mirage will distribute $200,000 in guaranteed prizes each day from Tuesday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, this amount will increase to $250,000. On July 16, $100,000 will be given away.

Separate drawings will be held to distribute the additional $400,000 in progressive table game jackpots.

The casino will be transformed into a new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, scheduled to open in 2027.
