Tehran Responds Forcefully After Bombings of Its Nuclear Facilities

In retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes against its nuclear facilities, Iran launched a series of missiles at American military bases in Iraq and Qatar, as confirmed by Iranian state television. However, air defense systems reportedly intercepted most of the projectiles, preventing major damage.

Witnesses in Doha reported at least eight explosions, though it remains unclear how many missiles struck Qatari territory or were neutralized mid-air. The Al-Udeid Air Base, a strategic hub for U.S. operations in the region, was one of the primary targets.

Hours before the attack, President Donald Trump had warned Iran that any retaliation would be met with even greater force.

"ANY ATTACK BY IRAN WILL BE COUNTERED WITH FAR GREATER FORCE," he wrote on social media, referring to Sunday’s bombings of Iranian nuclear facilities.

Meanwhile, Qatar strongly condemned Iran’s actions. Majed al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, described the attack as a "blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law," demanding an immediate diplomatic response.

Sources close to Western intelligence assessments revealed that the Iranian attack was anticipated, as Tehran had hinted at its intention to respond militarily.

As a precaution, the U.S. and British embassies in Doha advised their citizens to stay home due to the possibility of further attacks.

The exchange of strikes between Washington and Tehran marks one of the most tense moments between the two countries in recent years. Analysts warn that if retaliations continue, the region could face an unprecedented military escalation.

As global powers call for restraint, the world watches with concern as this new chapter of conflict unfolds in the Middle East.
