CHULA VISTA, California.– A fire broke out Saturday night at Chula Tacos, prompting an emergency response and leaving one person injured, according to the Chula Vista Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the restaurant, a well-known taquería located on H Street, where they discovered flames in the building’s attic upon arrival and immediately began suppression and ventilation operations.

After several minutes of firefighting efforts, the blaze was brought under control at approximately 8:39 p.m., preventing it from spreading to other areas of the business or nearby properties. Authorities reported that one individual was transported to a hospital, though the severity of the injuries remains unknown.

The restaurant’s owner addressed the incident on social media, describing it as “a difficult day” during Valentine’s Day 2026, a message that drew support from customers and the community.

Officials stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
