Warning issued amid clashes and roadblocks following the death of “El Mencho”

The United States government has issued a warning to its citizens in Mexico, advising them to stay sheltered due to violence and roadblocks resulting from security operations in several regions of the country.

According to the official notice, U.S. citizens are advised to remain in their residences until further notice in Jalisco, including the cities of Puerto Vallarta, Chapala, and Guadalajara; Tamaulipas, with a focus on Reynosa and surrounding municipalities; as well as areas of Michoacán, Guerrero, and Nuevo León.

The alert comes in response to clashes and criminal activity linked to the death of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, leader of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación, and aims to prevent risks from potential roadblocks and violent power shifts within the cartel.

U.S. authorities urged their citizens to follow local official guidance, stay informed through reliable media sources, and exercise heightened caution while security conditions stabilize in the affected areas.
