Travelers are advised to check their flight status and arrive early at the airport

The San Diego International Airport warned travelers about possible impacts on departing and arriving flights due to the partial federal government shutdown in the United States.

Airport officials advised passengers to check the status of their flight before heading to the airport and to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure time. Wait times at security checkpoints depend on the operations of federal agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which could be affected by the shutdown.

The federal shutdown began on February 14, just ahead of the busy spring break travel season. Despite the situation, airport authorities said they continue coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and partner airlines to maintain safe operations.
