The park was evacuated and remained closed for hours while authorities conducted an extensive security sweep searching for explosives

Six Flags Magic Mountain reopened Monday afternoon after being temporarily shut down due to a bomb threat reported earlier in the day.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said deputies and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers carried out a thorough inspection of the park after the threat was received shortly before 8:00 a.m. Authorities later confirmed that no evidence was found to support the threat.

The call came in at 7:55 a.m., while the park was still closed to the public. Although the amusement park was scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m., officials delayed the opening as law enforcement conducted the security operation. Employees who were already inside the park were also evacuated as a precaution.

In a statement, Six Flags said the safety of its guests and employees remains a top priority. The company thanked law enforcement agencies for their quick response and highlighted its ongoing partnership with authorities to help keep visitors and the community safe.

The park later announced it expected to reopen around 12:30 p.m. once the security sweep was completed.

So far, officials have not released additional details about the incident or the source of the threat.
