A pickup truck collided with a streetlight on Cuauhtémoc Sur Boulevard, resulting in a power outage in the area and a partial road closure.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The accident occurred on Sunday night around 10:00 p.m. on the boulevard, near the curve at Clavel Street in the Laderas de Monterrey neighborhood.

According to initial reports, the vehicle was allegedly speeding and failed to stay in its lane. It was also reported that the pickup might have been towed by another vehicle, as it had a metal cable severed on its bumper. The involved vehicle is a 1979 Ford F-350 with Baja California license plates, which was left abandoned at the scene.

In addition to the low-voltage power pole, the truck also knocked over a traffic sign when it mounted the sidewalk. The wooden pole fell onto the lanes of the boulevard, necessitating a closure in both directions while crews worked to remove it.

No injuries or additional vehicles involved in the incident have been reported.
