Authorities are investigating an incident in Southcrest where suspected Molotov cocktails were thrown at a home early Monday morning.

San Diego Police officers and Fire-Rescue teams responded to the 3600 block of Birch Street at around 1:45 a.m. following reports of explosions in the area. The devices sparked small fires, which officers were able to extinguish before firefighters arrived.

According to authorities at the scene, two homes may have been targeted in the attack. The Metro Arson Strike Team was called in to assist with the investigation.
