Early this morning, Baristi Café, located at the corner of Paseo de los Héroes and Misión de Mulegé in Zona Río, was attacked with Molotov cocktails. Two men were arrested as suspected perpetrators of the attempted arson.

The attackers broke the establishment's front glass before throwing the incendiary devices. Thanks to surveillance cameras and witness testimonies, municipal police identified that they fled in a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Texas plates.  

Following a monitoring operation, the vehicle was located near Vía Rápida Poniente, prompting a chase. The suspects were finally apprehended at the intersection of Margen Derecho Avenue and Calle Principal in the El Florido neighborhood. They were identified as Gustavo “N,” 29, and Marco Antonio “N,” 27.  

Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle they were escaping in had been reported stolen. Additionally, Gustavo had injuries on his right hand, apparently caused by breaking the café’s window.  

During the pursuit, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, leaving only superficial damage to the establishment.
