A Turkish national was injured in a shooting in the rear parking lot of Pokets, a business located in Tijuana’s Zona Río district.

According to unofficial reports, the victim—described as approximately 35 years old, slim build, and dark complexion—suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg and was transported to a hospital by Red Cross paramedics.

The attack took place on José María Velasco Street, just a few blocks from the offices of the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR). 

Authorities found a piece of cardboard at the scene containing threats directed at the foreign national, according to preliminary findings.

Agents from the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office, including Homicide Prosecutor Miguel Ángel Gaxiola, responded to the scene along with officers from other law enforcement agencies.

A search operation was launched to locate those responsible, and early reports indicate that the vehicle used by the suspects to flee the scene was located.

Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and work to identify those involved.
