A man was shot and killed on Monday morning near the San Ysidro Port of Entry, triggering a heavy police presence in Tijuana’s Zona Urbana Río.
The victim, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, was found lying on the street at the intersection of Prolongación Padre Kino and Juan García. According to preliminary reports, he sustained at least one gunshot wound to the head.

The man was wearing a blue hoodie, black pants, and dark sneakers. He has not yet been officially identified.

Witnesses said the suspected assailant, also dressed in dark clothing and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, fled the scene on foot toward the Libertad neighborhood. This led to a search operation by municipal police officers and investigative agents.

Despite the heightened security operation, no arrests have been reported in connection with the attack. The crime scene was cordoned off to allow forensic experts and the Public Prosecutor's Office to conduct their work.
