A violent shootout broke out between suspected criminals and members of Mexico’s Federal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCF) in the Urbi Quinta Marsella neighborhood of Tijuana. No officers were reported injured.

The incident occurred as federal agents approached a residence near Vía Rápida Alamar during an operation. As they neared the property, they were met with gunfire from high-caliber weapons, prompting an immediate response from the officers.

The suspects barricaded themselves inside the residence, triggering a firefight in which at least 20 shots were reportedly fired, according to early reports.

Preliminary results indicate that one suspected criminal was killed and two others were taken into custody. Municipal police secured the perimeter while additional law enforcement agencies deployed reinforcements in the area.
