The Baja California Attorney General’s Office confirms property damage and reports no injuries; authorities are investigating possible use of explosive devices

An explosion on the evening of Wednesday, October 15, caused property damage at the facilities of the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Playas de Tijuana.

According to official information, the incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. and resulted in damage to institutional property, as well as to four private vehicles and two official units. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Following the discovery of what appeared to be remnants of explosive devices at the scene, the Attorney General’s Office activated security protocols and coordinated efforts with municipal and state agencies to locate those responsible.

The state agency stated that it will continue the corresponding investigations and reaffirmed its commitment to act firmly in high-impact cases, with the goal of bringing those responsible to justice.

Authorities from the Attorney General’s Office are expected to hold a press conference at midnight Wednesday to provide further details about the case.
