A 43-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter were injured by gunfire on the morning of Wednesday, February 11, in the Gabilondo neighborhood of downtown Tijuana.

According to preliminary information, the incident was reported around 7:35 a.m. at a residence on Manuel Doblado Street. Minutes later, the man arrived at a nearby hospital on his own, accompanied by his daughter, presenting what appeared to be a superficial head wound, while the girl suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Initially, the man did not provide his identity and stated that he had been pursued, without specifying the exact location of the attack.

Early reports indicate that the father and daughter were on their way to the girl’s school when they were shot at. After the attack, both immediately sought medical attention. Witnesses reported that the father was visibly distressed and the girl was in shock. Additionally, the vehicle they were traveling in sustained multiple bullet impacts to the hood and windshield.

Municipal police responded to the scene and confirmed the report, noting that the alleged perpetrators fled in a maroon Mitsubishi with two men inside; one was described as having a dark complexion, short build, and wearing a white shirt. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the area.

Agents from the State Investigation Agency (AEI) arrived at the scene to collect evidence and continue the investigation. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been reported so far.

Authorities urged the public to provide any information that could help identify those responsible.
