Ismael Burgueño, the current state president of Morena, was announced by the party as their candidate for the mayoralty of Tijuana this morning, leaving behind the current mayor, Montserrat Caballero, and former boxer Erik "El Terrible" Morales, the candidate of Governor Marina del Pilar.

In a statement, Morena, through Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila, released the list of 6 candidates for the municipalities of Baja California, with Norma Bustamante as the mayor for Mexicali, Claudia Agatón in Ensenada, Román Cota in Tecate, Miriam Cano in San Quintín, José Luís Dagnino in San Felipe.

The name of the candidate for Playas de Rosarito was not disclosed.
