The presumptive Republican candidate, Donald Trump, promoted two posts on his Truth Social account calling for the imprisonment of high-ranking elected officials.

The former president has stated on multiple occasions that he will seek to prosecute his political opponents if reelected.

The posts called for the arrest of US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer, and former Vice President Mike Pence, among other prominent American politicians, reported The New York Times.

One of the posts amplified by Trump labeled Liz Cheney, former Republican representative, as a traitor, and called for her to be tried in a televised military tribunal, a type of court reserved for enemy combatants and war criminals, reported CNN.
