Protesters harassed TSA employees by mistake; sheriff’s intervention prevented further incident

A group of anti‑ICE demonstrators mistakenly confronted three federal agents from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) who were dining Wednesday night at a restaurant in the Los Angeles area, believing them to be officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The incident took place at Ten‑Raku restaurant in the Plaza Mexico shopping center in Lynwood, where the agents were surrounded and verbally harassed by a group of people. In response, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrived to regain control of the situation and escorted the agents out of the establishment. No arrests or injuries were reported.

Federal officials noted that the TSA does not take part in civil immigration enforcement operations and warned of increasing hostility toward Department of Homeland Security employees. The episode adds to other recent incidents in cities such as Minneapolis, where civilians have also been harassed after being mistaken for ICE agents.
