A driver from the company Settepi has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator in the death of Banas Konrad, a Polish national who was fatally stabbed during a violent confrontation in the Nido de las Águilas neighborhood.

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon when Konrad, who did not speak Spanish, reportedly assaulted a 48-year-old woman and a five-year-old child, allegedly attempting to take them by force. Following a struggle, Konrad tried to flee but was caught by two individuals near Secondary School No. 117.

Videos shared on social media show Konrad attempting to take refuge inside a staff transport bus, but he was forcibly removed. In the footage, one of the attackers can be seen spraying him with a fire extinguisher while the other repeatedly stabbed him with a bladed weapon.

The victim was left lying on Árbol del Trueno street with a fatal wound to the neck.

Municipal police later located the bus involved, identified by unit number 11029 and operated by Settepi. The driver was arrested as a suspected participant in the attack and was also found to be in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Authorities continue to search for the second assailant and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
